MILAN – According to local sources, Nestle has asked the Anderson City Council for a 10-year tax abatement on the equipment that will fill the company’s expansion and create another 99 jobs at its plant in Anderson, Indiana. The council will consider setting a public hearing on Nestle’s request for a 10-year tax abatement on new equipment valued at $200 million. The break is worth about $9.3 million and is part of the incentive package the city offered for Nestlé’s expansion.
The company plans to add about 200,000 square feet to its plant.
City Economic Development Director Linda Dawson says Nestle could have about 500 employees at the plant after the expansion.
